Payment

Once you have confirmed in writing that you would like us to proceed with making the necessary booking arrangements, we will send you the invoice.  A deposit of 25% is due immediately in order to secure the booking. Once the deposit is in our account, you will receive your final confirmation. The balance amount is due 4 weeks prior to arrival.

If, for whatever reason you need to cancel your booking, please note cancellation conditions below.  Please make sure you have relevant travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances causing cancellation.

You can pay your deposit and balance by the following methods:

Payment can be done via EFT (bank transfer) directly into our South African bank account. All invoices need be paid in full in the nominated currency. Bank charges are at your own expense. Please contact your personal Travel Consultant for details.

Make use of our secure online payment gateway, which allows you to make payment in your own currency with zero international bank charges or commission. Please contact your personal Travel Consultant for details.

All invoices should be paid in the above nominated currency into the mentioned bank account. Payment terms are as follows, all invoices are due on the day of receipt unless previously agreed by Abang Africa Travel. All invoices not paid according to these terms will result in cancellation of the bookings relating to the invoice.

Preparation

South Africa is an all-year round destination due to its varying regional climates. Between November and February, The Cape has beautifully hot and dry summers, while the best time for whale watching is between July and November. The northern regions can be rainy from November to February, but on the other hand it can be marvelous for birding. The cooler winter months (May to September) are best for spotting amazing wildlife. So, it really depends on what you want!

If you decide to visit South Africa in between December and February, keep in mind that it’s also school holidays here, so it can be very busy.

If your stay in South Africa doesn’t exceed 90 days, you will get a Tourist Visa upon arrival. Please contact your Travel Consultant for further questions.

A vaccination against yellow fever is only required if you stayed in a yellow fever country in the 7 days before you visit South Africa. No other vaccinations are obligatory. In summer, Malaria prophylaxis is advised for the certain areas around Kruger Park.  Since we’re not medically certified, these are just guidelines, so please contact your doctor for medical advice.

You’ve undoubtedly read about safety in South Africa. Yes, there is crime, however if you take normal sensible precautions, the risk is not substantially higher than in other parts of the world.

When you are traveling in an unknown country, you always watch your steps a little bit more than you do at home. If you don’t do things that you shouldn’t do back home, you will have an amazing time. There are a few things that you have to keep in mind;

  • Don’t walk alone at night, always take a taxi (that’s what the locals do)
  • Never take too much cash with you
  • Don’t wear jewellery that is to obvious
  • Keep your valuable stuff in the hotel room
  • And listen to local advice

Yes, a travel insurance is obligatory. We strongly advise that you also take out a cancellation policy.
